At Wayfair, we're proud to support our LGBTQIA+ community this Pride Month - and every month, everywhere. This year, Wayfair launches its first-ever European Pride campaign and debuts at both Dublin Pride and Berlin’s Christopher Street Day.
The annual Pride celebrations have been running in Dublin and Berlin since 1979 and have grown throughout the years to draw crowds of more than half a million. Beginning as a community tribute to 1969’s Stonewall demonstrations in New York, it’s fitting that Wayfair’s debut at the events was driven by grassroots organizations within the company, such as its WayOut Europe ERG, representatives of which also feature in Wayfair Europe’s first-ever Pride campaign. The campaign motto, “We Are Proud,” speaks to the organization’s spirit: supporting LBGTQIA+ communities everywhere and every day at Wayfair by creating a place where anyone can belong.
We have a thriving LGBTQIA+ community at Wayfair that expresses our richness of character and breadth of identity. I am honored to be the executive sponsor of WayOut, Wayfair’s LGBTQIA+ employee resource group (ERG) that is focused on creating opportunities for community connection, as well as support for LGBTQIA+ Wayfairians to be able to happily and safely bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
Wayfair’s ERG WayOut Europe members have been central to its showings at Christopher Street Day Berlin and the official sponsorship of Dublin Pride. The Berlin Christopher Street Day Parade will feature a parade truck, alongside other local events throughout Wayfair’s active European markets.
Wayfair’s first-ever European Pride campaign “We Are Proud” features six members of the company’s LGBTQIA+ ERG WayOut Europe. The campaign is ideated and executed by an entirely queer production team around the Berlin-based and award-winning photographer and filmmaker Sophia Emmerich.
